School Board Members
Sharon Vogel - President
Mrs. Sharon Vogel has lived in Woodlynne with her husband Dan and three children, now grown, for 27 years, and has served on the school board for 9 years. During her tenure as a Woodlynne Board of Education members she has served as a NJSBA Delegate and on the Collingswood Board of Education member representing Woodlynne. Mrs. Vogel teaches 4th grade. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, reading and trying to keep up with technology.
Mrs. Shivone Sanford - Vice President
Mrs. Shivone Sanford has lived in Woodlynne for 8 years. Mrs. Sanford is originally from Burlington County and graduated in 2006 from the Burlington County Institute of Technology-Westampton, majoring in Office Technology. Mrs. Sanford's passions in high school were reading and writing. She was also a member of the Human Resources Club. Upon completion of high school, Mrs. Sanford attended Camden County College for one semester and also attended the Chubb Institute for a 6 month course in Medical Billing and Coding. Mrs. Sanford graduated and went onto to an internship at a medical supply company in Pennsauken where she was employed as a medical receptionist working for the company for 3 1/2 years. Mrs. Sanford is currently a home-maker raising for 2 beautiful children, her son, Kevin is now in the 1st grade at the Woodlynne School District.
Mrs. Christine Sanford
Mrs. Christine Sanford has lived in Woodlynne for the past 44 years. She is married and has two sons who attended Woodlynne School. Mrs. Sanford been on the Woodlynne school Board for the past 23 years. She attended Saint Maria Goretti High school in Philadelphia. Additionally, Mrs. Sanford served on numerous committees and organizations for the Woodlynne Borough. She has also worked as a Board of Elections official for the past 30 years. Mrs. Sanford's grandson Kevin is in the First Grade and hopefully her granddaughter Destiny will be in school next year attending the same school as their father did.
Mrs. Heidemarie Wood
Mrs. Heidemarie Wood has been a Woodlynne School Board Member for more than 29 years. She is a graduate of Cinnaminson High School and moved to Woodlynne in 1975 after meeting Douglas Wood who is third generation born and raised in Woodlynne. Heidemarie and Douglas were married in the Woodlynne Methodist Church and have one daughter who was a student of the Woodlynne School Pre-K thru 8th and completed 9th thru 12th at Collingswood and she also has one granddaughter. Mrs. Wood worked 27 years in customer service and currently works part time retail. She is a member of the Oaklyn American Legion Post 84 Ladies Auxiliary helping with entertainment and in the kitchen. Beside spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Wood enjoys gardening, yard work and anything to do with animals. She also enjoys volunteering her time on the Woodlynne Board of Education being able to support the district by making good decisions and policies to ensure the students of Woodlynne Public School receive a quality education.
Mr. Carlos Poole
Mr. Carlos Poole currently serves as a school board member for the Woodlynne and Collingswood Board of Education. He presently works for Independence Blue Cross for the last 24 years in multiple areas. Currently, Mr. Poole works in Government Markets where his primary focus is in contract management and broker licensing and appointments. Mr. Poole earned his M.A. in Education from the University of Phoenix and his B.A. in Business Communications from Rosemont College in Pennsylvania.
Samantha Kirby has been a resident of Woodlynne for the past 9 years. She is a wife, mother of 3, and a grandmother. Mrs. Kirby attended The College of NJ where she received a BS in Elementary Education and Psychology. She has been teaching for nearly two decades. Her youngest daughter attends Woodlynne Elementary.
Ms. Lakeisha Fontanez has resided in Woodlynne for 2.5 years with her fiancé Councilman Clyde Cook and 4 children, two of whom graduated from Woodlynne School and are in Collingswood High School, one who will be starting in a few years and one who is in college. Ms. Fontanez is originally from Paulsboro. She went to Harris School of Business to be a Medical assistant and currently works for Cooper Neurology. She also is going to school for HealthCare Management at Florida Institute of Technology. What little spare time she does have, she enjoys spending time with and supporting her family, decorating, cooking and gardening. She is looking forward to helping Woodlynne School District continue to provide an excellent education and opportunities for the children of Woodlynne.
